Patient Education
Increasingly, patient interaction in the dental office is falling to the hygienist. In many dental offices, the hygienist is responsible for explaining to patients the characteristics of oral hygiene and disease states such as gingivitis, periodontal disease and even oral cancer. These are sometimes difficult topics to discuss with patients, and patients may go home confused and upset, with the explanation fading into a vague memory
To be of service to you, we have developed a new Patient Education Series for Contemporary Oral Hygiene. The series includes such topics as oral cancer, proper brushing, gingivitis, and oral piercing, to name only a few. Each patient education sheet is written and designed for distribution to your patients in an easy to read format, based on topics requested by more than 1000 hygienists.
Each issue of the journal will include a patient education sheet. You may print the sheet for free, or you can choose to personalize it for your own practice.
